After a satisfying career in high-tech, and decades of weekend refinishing, I undertook a concentrated study of correct and appropriate antiques restoration. Wood furniture is my area of focus.
After several years of practice, in 2004 I began charging for my work.
Since then I have restored hundreds of items ranging from 18th Century chairs up to 20th Century coffee tables, including remediation of fire damage and flood damage.

Each project is unique. A valuable or treasured antique has a history that we should acknowledge and respect. The materials and techniques used in its original construction are the most appropriate to use in work done on it today.
On the other hand, items of less formal "significance" (e.g. factory-made) might benefit from the use of current technology in getting to the result that the client wants, for example a simple refinishing.

I can do the work either way.
No project is too small, some might be too large. I do the work myself, the work is done in my workshop, and I take the time necessary to get it right.
